Midshire Business Systems moves into Sandwell in 25th anniversary year

Sandwell Council announces the official unveiling of a 25,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility by Midshire Business Systems, a leading UK office technology solutions provider, to mark the company’s relocation to Sandwell during its 25th anniversary year.

At the official unveiling of the premises, Councillor Darren Cooper, the Leader of Sandwell Council, will join the directors of the Midshire Group, their business partners and the local business community to celebrate the company’s relocation.

The new facility in Doranda Way, West Bromwich follows the company’s decision to relocate from Nechells, Birmingham as part of its expansion plans. The move is the result of £2.2 million investment by the company, which has been partly funded by the Growing Priority Sectors Regional Growth Fund with the help of Think Sandwell, Sandwell Council’s business growth team, which provides tailored advice and support to businesses in the borough.

Commenting on the opening Councillor Darren Cooper, said: “We are delighted to welcome Midshire Business Systems to Sandwell and are excited by the company’s growth plans. Over the last few months, Sandwell Council’s Business Growth Team has worked with the business and helped secure investment into the new facility to help the company achieve its growth ambitions. We are also excited by the potential for job creation and look forward to continue working with the company to help realise its vision.”

The original 20,000 sq ft premises were expanded to provide an additional 5,000 sq ft of office space and include a new reception area and showrooms. The offices at the site will cater for approximately 90 skilled staff and will be a base for a further 40 non-office based engineers. The investment in plant, equipment and buildings will have an additional capacity to accommodate another 40 staff in the medium term. The new facility has already created 20 new jobs.

Phil Powell, Managing Director at Midshire Business Systems, added: “This is a significant move for the company after a sustained period of growth. The move has provided better facilities for our growing team and will enable us to deliver an even better service to our expanding customer base. We are excited by our future prospects and to be working in Sandwell with a business-friendly council. The council’s Business Growth Team has supported us throughout the funding, planning and relocation process, and we look forward to working with it as we grow.”
