New employment sites approved in Oldbury
Plans have been approved to redevelop a site formerly occupied by a vehicle rental business in Oldbury. The plans comprise the construction of two industrial units, known as Unit 1 and Unit 2, extending to about 44,800 sq ft and 52,400 sq ft respectively.
The 5.3-acre site at Euroway Park on Birmingham Road is a brownfield site that has stood vacant since December 2020. It was previously occupied by Ryder Ltd.
The developer, Total Developments (UK), has promised to deliver “high-quality employment space complementary to the surrounding commercial, industrial and employment location”.
In a statement filed with Sandwell Council, the company added that the units “will provide employment opportunities for local residents through the creation of new jobs, the benefit of which should not be underestimated.”
Total Developments, is one of the UK’s leading property specialists. It is a privately owned joint venture company with all shareholders fully employed by the business. It was founded in 2015 to focus principally on speculative B1, B2 and B8 developments across the UK.
The company has a successful track record of major development and regeneration projects. Its ‘green’ policy is based on delivering buildings with low energy requirements in the most efficient manner possible whilst providing effective, comfortable, functional and economic spaces.
The Oldbury site will include a total of 95 car parking spaces across the two facilities, including four accessible and four electric vehicle spaces. Cycle parking will be located adjacent to each of the units providing space for 12 bicycles.
The scheme has now been approved, subject to conditions.
