Black Country commercial vehicle body manufacturer Bevan Group has revealed plans to move to a new headquarters in Wednesbury. The family-run firm was founded by Ron Bevan in Brierley Hill in 1976 and the move marks its 40^th anniversary year in business.

Managing Director Anthony Bevan, Ron Bevan’s son, recently made an announcement about the move on the company’s Commercial Vehicle Show stand at the Birmingham NEC, where the company was promoting its range of truck and van services.

The Bevan Group builds rigid truck and van bodies and in recent years it has added specialist solutions for the drinks and glass industries, as well as tippers, traffic management vehicles and temperature-controlled equipment to its core range of dry freight box, curtainside and dropside bodies.

The move to larger premises will enable the firm to continue to expand and create new jobs for the region. The number of employees in its growing Aftercare division is expected to double over the next five years.

The company will retain its production facility in Halesowen, as well as a second base in Oldbury but its headquarters will be located at the new premises on the Wednesdbury One Industrial Estate, located near junction nine of the M6. It includes 5,000 square feet of office space and a 17,000 square feet factory unit.

The move is necessary to support the rapid expansion that the business has undergone as it has outgrown its current headquarters. After a £500,000 refurbishment, which is scheduled to be completed this summer, the new headquarters will provide extra office accommodation and car parking space, as well as providing additional production capacity.
