New jobs to be created in West Brom firm expansion
Sandwell Council business growth team has been working in partnership with West Bromwich firm Rimstock Plc on plans to expand its premises. The application that has been submitted to Sandwell Council will create nearly 200 new jobs for the area and also contribute to the wider local economy.
Rimstock Plc is the UK’s premier manufacturer and supplier of aluminium and high quality lightweight optimised cast alloy wheels. Its customers include motorsport, the defence sector and its own aftermarket ranges under the Team Dynamics brand.
The company’s successful growth has led to the need for a bigger premises, and new plant and machinery to improve production efficiency in order to increase output.
Sandwell Council is working with Rimstock to expand its existing operations at its headquarters in Ridgacre Road, West Bromwich by extending its existing properties and acquiring neighbouring buildings and land.
The application submitted to the planning office includes a side and rear extension to the adjacent former Express & Star building, which has stood unused for many years.
The proposed scheme would involve significant investment in Sandwell and as well as creating jobs directly could have considerable supply chain benefits.
