The Midlands Engine is funding twelve places for Midlands-based businesses from the creative, design and tourism industries to join a trade mission to China.

A strong partnership has been established with Zhejiang Province, one of China’s most developed and affluent regions. In March 2020, the Midlands Engine will be running a trade mission to the Wenzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Expo. A port on China’s eastern coast, Wenzhou is the largest city in Zhejiang province, is close to Shanghai and came second in a list of ‘Top 100 Chinese City Brands’ in 2019.

The selected delegates will enjoy subsidised travel, free accommodation, exhibition space at the expo and documentation to support their visa applications. The expo won the title of ‘China’s Most Influential Exhibition in the Industry’ and is a great opportunity to build links with Chinese businesses, showcase the products and services offered by companies in the Midlands and get a feel for the Chinese market.
