News #MadeInSandwell: The Sandwell Herald covers the latest stories from around the borough

It covers news #MadeInSandwell, including council news, stories from partner organisations, residents, charities and community groups. The paper is distributed free of charge to households across Sandwell.

Produced by Sandwell Council’s Communications and Corporate Affairs Team, The Sandwell Herald is published three times per year, with a Spring, Summer and Winter edition.

The latest publication – Spring 2022 – features Think Sandwell on page 13, highlighting how we help Sandwell businesses at every stage, from setting up to running and growing your business.

#MadeInSandwell Monday even gets a mention so we felt it was only right to reciprocate by featuring the Herald as today’s #MadeInSandwell star.

The newspaper was first published way back in 1982 following government guidance that public bodies have a duty to inform residents of what they are doing. Forty years later and it is still informing Sandwell residents of what’s going on in their borough and is particularly important for people without internet access.

During the pandemic a special vaccine edition was even printed, giving information on everything Covid-related, from how and where to get vaccinated, to how to access mental health support.

In the latest edition, alongside our mention on Page 13, the newspaper covers topics such as how Sandwell is getting ready for the Commonwealth Games, ways in which the Council is tackling empty properties, Global recycling day news, help regarding money worries, Spring and Summer events taking place across Sandwell and dates for your diary.
