Oldbury car part firm up for national award

dmglogoDavid Manners Ltd is enjoying a double celebration after winning two awards in the Midlands Family Business Awards, and is now through to the national competition.

The David Manners Group, which was featured as one of our #madeinsandwell Monday stars back in July 2017, specialises in supplying and manufacturing parts for Classic Mini, Jaguar, Daimler, MG, Triumph, Morris Minor and MX5 cars. The company, which is run by Kate Manners, the founder’s daughter, opened its Sandwell premises in 1997, and employs around 50 staff. It works very closely with To-Ta Classics, providing parts for TV show Car SOS, which is filmed at the garage.

The Family Business Awards are the UK’s only independent, not-for-profit annual awards showcase for family businesses. David Manners Ltd walked away from the regional awards with top prizes for Social and Corporate Responsibility and Employer of the Year, recognising the firm’s commitment to the local community, its work with apprenticeships (arranged through Sandwell Council), and its charity work, including £10,000 raised for Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice through the restoration and raffling off or a classic Morris Minor.

Think Sandwell wishes the David Manners team many congratulations on their well-deserved wins. We are keeping our fingers firmly crossed for the national awards!
