PAS 7050: Free product safety training
The PAS 7050 product safety standard is relevant to any business involved in producing, distributing or selling products to consumers.
The Chartered Trading Standards Institute is working in partnership with the Office for Product Safety and Standards to deliver a number of free safety standards training webinars throughout March and April.
A two-hour online course covers why and how the PAS 7050 supports businesses to bring safe products to market. The course provides suggestions and recommendations on what a proactive product safety management plan may look like.
The aim is to prevent unsafe products from reaching the market. This will help to protect consumers, prevent injuries and potentially save lives, as well as helping to mitigate risk of costly repercussions and reputational damage to businesses.
The course is free for businesses to attend and is aimed at manufacturers and distributors of electrical appliances, toys and consumer goods – including repaired, refurbished and second-hand goods – and importers and operators of online marketplaces.
Attendees will:
- Discover why PAS 7050 is needed
- Focus on the preparation of a product safety management plan (PSMP) and the development of a product safety incident plan (PSIP)
- Learn how to effectively apply the PAS practice
- Explore retrospective case study examples.
There will be time for the audience to ask questions after the main content of the webinar.
The sessions will take place online from 10am – 12pm on the following dates:
- Wednesday 22 March
- Thursday 23 March
- Friday 24 March
- Friday 14 April
