Purity reach a peak

Purity2_(002)A Wednesbury drinks company is due to hit a new high, with an expected annual turnover of over £20 million.

Purity Soft Drinks has been operating in the Black Country since 1892, when its products were delivered to local retailers in horse drawn wagons.

But the business has come a long way in the last 120 years. It is now one of the largest independent drinks manufacturers in the UK and sources fruit from farms as far afield as Africa, Asia and South America. Its bottling line is considered to be one of the most advanced juice production facilities in the country and its product labels are digitally enhanced with links to online games.

This year’s record revenue is due to the growing success of the JuiceBurst brand, a range of fruit-based drinks that comes in fourteen different flavours as well as ‘skinny’ and Fairtrade versions, and is sold in national retailers such as The Co-Operative, WHSmith and Superdrug. JuiceBurst was recently relaunched with the announcement of its newly developed ‘schools approved’ range, which uses natural sweetener Stevia instead of added sugar.

The company also makes Firefly, a blend of fruit juice and botanical extracts with no artificial additives of any kind. Firefly was launched in 2003 and now sells to customers in forty countries worldwide.

With sales continuing to rise, the company hopes to top the £25 million mark in the coming financial year.
