Sales boost for Sandwell manufacturer with aerospace contracts win

CCR Forming Ltd specialises in precision cold roll formed metal rings produced from coil, strip or sheet. It supplies global markets across several sectors, including telecoms, heating and ventilation, land based turbines, percussion drums and storage drums.

The company’s recent wins include contracts to supply engine components to several global primes and tier one companies, which have boosted its sales towards the £1m mark – an increase from £700,000.

The deals mark the start of a concerted effort to target opportunities in the aerospace sector. The sector is suffering with a backlog of orders caused by the pandemic so aerospace customers are looking for a reliable supply of components and short lead times – two attributes that CCR has built its reputation on over the last 40 years.

The extra turnover will be invested back into the company to ensure that it can deliver world class quality precision parts and on-time delivery in order to attract even more opportunities. It is investing £100,000 on an in-house welding shop to provide more capacity and the ability to turnaround emergency jobs.

Formed in 1979, the family-owned business started supplying couplers to chimney flue manufacturers and engine liners and manifolds to the aerospace industry. As the business grew it moved into forming bezels and hoops for lighting manufacturers, wheel rims for motorbikes, rings for litter bins, protective ribs for storage drums and rings for percussion drums.

The company specialises in the design and manufacture of tooling specific to customer requirements and has a wealth of experience in roll forming. It prides itself on working closely with all of its customers to ensure that they retain them over the long term.

Having recently undergone a rebranding exercise and a name change to CCR Forming Ltd, the company feels this reflects that it changes with the times and continues to have a cutting edge approach to manufacturing.

CCR believes that there are lots of new opportunities out there, particularly in the aerospace sector, and the demand for its technical expertise by big aero manufacturers will mean a good year ahead with a boost in sales on the cards.
