Sandwell bus company buys Hotel Hoppa from National Express
Tividale-based bus and coach operator Rotala has acquired Heathrow shuttle service Hotel Hoppa from rival National Express in a £2m deal.
Hotel Hoppa transports passengers from all of Heathrow’s airport terminals to hotels within five miles of Heathrow Central Bus Station. The purchase was made with cash reserves that Rotala raised earlier this year by selling extra shares on the stock market. The deal includes the right to use the Hotel Hoppa name, a fleet of 32 buses and existing contracts with airlines and hotels around Heathrow.
Rotala already operates various services in and around the airport, and this acquisition will significantly expand and strengthen those operations without any additional overheads, as the service will utilise extra capacity in Rotala’s existing Heathrow depots.
The deal, which will complete before the end of November, is expected to increase Rotala’s sales by £6m, raise EBITDA by half a million and bring in additional pre-tax profits of £0.2m.
