One way in which the partnership provides opportunities to businesses, residents and young people is through apprenticeships. These provide employers with the opportunity to gain enthusiastic and motivated individuals who they can develop to join their team, while providing young people with the opportunity to work and study in their chosen employment area while earning real wages.

Sandwell businesses will benefit from the support available by gaining a committed and competent workforce to help increase their productivity and improve business performance to boost economic growth.

A major barrier to growth for local businesses previously has been the ability to source a skilled workforce but the relationship between the Council, the college and the local business community is now addressing this challenge collectively. Apprenticeships enable employers to fill the skills gaps that exist within their current workforce as apprentices begin to learn sector-specific skills from day one.

You can find out more about the support on offer by Think Sandwell on the Business Services pages of our website. Specific information on apprenticeships can be found on our Recruitment & Training page.

If you are a local employer and think your business could benefit by providing an apprenticeship please get in touch with Think Sandwell on 0121 569 2121.
