Sandwell Council recognised in national awards
Sandwell Council has been named Public Sector Company of the Year at the 2016 Employee Engagement Awards.
The awards celebrate companies that put workforce engagement at the heart of their business strategy, and are organised in conjunction with employee engagement consultancy People Insight.
Sandwell Council was recognised for its Facing the Future programme, which aims to tackle funding cuts through a raft of cost saving and income generating measures, such as encouraging online interaction and facilitating community partnerships.
Tom Debenham, MD of People Insight, said, “We all know that engaged employees drive business results and customer experience. What we are now beginning to see proven is the deep importance of engagement at work to lifetime wellbeing – which makes the incredible achievements of these finalists so much more important and inspiring.”
The winners were announced at a sold-out ceremony at Wembley Stadium in London on 26 January. On 1 March, many of those recognised will be sharing their experiences at the EE Awards Conference, giving practical advice to other companies wishing to engage their staff better.
