Sandwell Council shortlisted for 5 Awards in the Constructing Excellence (West Midlands) Awards

Sandwell Council, an award winning local authority, announces that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in 5 categories at next month’s Constructing Excellence in the West Midlands awards

The West Midlands awards will be presented at a high profile dinner on Friday 10 July 2015. More than six hundred leaders and innovators from across the construction sector will gather at the ICC, Birmingham, to celebrate the very best industry projects.

Attracting more than 200 entries from some of the biggest firms in UK construction, Sandwell Council has been recognised for its outstanding achievements and exemplary work. The Council’s work  through the pioneering West Midlands Virtual Hospital which has earned them two shortlisting’s in the BIM (Building Information Modelling) Project of the Year and Innovation categories, whilst Sandwell’s Urban Design and Building Services team have been nominated for prestigious Client of the Year award, Other Sandwell finalists include a joint entry with our housing framework partners, (Wates, Vinci, Keepmoat, & Lovell) in the Integration and Collaboration category, finally Sandwell Councils local purchasing officer – Steve Massey has secured an individual finalist place in the Achiever’s Award for his work in supporting the region’s supply chain.

Sandwell Council’s newly elected Councillor for Regeneration and the Economy – Paul Moore said “we are delighted that we have been shortlisted in so many categories which demonstrates our wide range of skills as a Council. The Client of the Year and  Integration and Collaboration awards prove our commitment to partnership and collaborative working across all the boroughs regeneration projects. We are also very proud to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the BIM project of the year and Innovation categories which demonstrates that through our work with the West Midlands Virtual Hospital, Sandwell are leading the way as a public sector client in adopting new design technologies and supply chain innovation.
