Sandwell firms facilitate multi million pound pharmacy acquisition
The Raylane Group, based in Oldbury, has become the largest shareholder in Gary Barber Pharmacies, adding three outlets in Cheltenham to its portfolio. Raylane secured the £3m deal with the support and advice of Dudley law firm Hawkins Hatton and Oldbury accountants Crowe Clark Whitehill.
The Raylane Group was established in 1991 by Dinesh Patel. After joining the pharmaceutical industry in the 1980s, he acquired Hawne Pharmacy in 1985 and later incorporated it into the Raylane Group.
Raylane currently operates five community pharmacies with 20 staff, offering a range of services including holiday healthcare advice, flu jabs, weight loss clinics, emergency contraception and support to stop smoking. This acquisition will double the number of employees and take the number of prescriptions they manage up to 70,000 a month. Patel continues to look for opportunities to expand the business, both in terms of the number of pharmacies and the range of services offered.
Think Sandwell wishes Rylane all the best for the future. If you’re looking to grow your company, go to our Business Services pages (https://archive.sandwellbusinessgrowth.com/business-services/) to find out about the support and advice we can offer.
