Launch success: ‘Sandwell – home of the successful start-up’
Twenty people attended the launch event for a free programme of support and training for entrepreneurs in West Bromwich on Wednesday 1 February, deeming it a big success.
Delivered by Executive Training and Consultancy (ETC) Ltd, the event took place at the National Metalforming Centre in West Bromwich. It was called ‘Sandwell – home of the successful start-up’.
It was the beginning of a programme of seminars, workshops, and training events throughout February. The programme aims to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to create a business plan and make their business more competitive.
‘Aspirations to make the world a better place’
Councillor Pam Randhawa, Sandwell Council’s Champion for Our Economy, opened the event. She said: “Welcome to Sandwell, the heart of the Black Country and the Industrial Revolution. The home of visionaries, inspirators and good old working-class people who have aspirations to be innovators and make the world a better place.”
She praised attendees for reaching the National Metalforming Centre, despite train and teacher strikes and traffic delays. “This shows that you have the commitment and passion to achieve,” she said.
“We at Sandwell Council have set up this support package for you to become a successful entrepreneur like Alan Sugar. This can be your chance to put Sandwell on the map with our specialist business and coaching workshops”.
Afterwards, attendee Bajabulile praised the event, saying: “The launch was great! It was very insightful and I’m eager for the next few weeks. This programme will benefit my organisation.”
Pep the Poet also expressed enjoyment, saying, “Thank you for the invitation. I had a great time”.
