Sandwell manufacturing business Metpro acquires Scottish firm Demon Cato
Smethwick-based manufacturer Metpro is a multi-service manufacturing business which supplies the UK mechanical and electrical markets and has recently acquired Demon Cato in Edinburgh for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 1995, Metpro provides a range of standard products to the mechanical and electrical industry but also works with original equipment manufacturers on their bespoke components.
Its standard product offering includes steel conduit tube and accessories, cable accessories, earthing and wiring products, steel bracketry accessories, fixings and fasteners, switch and socket boxes, adaptable boxes, and flexible conduit and accessories.
In addition, it designs and supplies innovative, value-add products offering increased efficiency and on-site safety such as Rapid Saddle, Rollatray and the full range of Conlok accessories.
The company prides itself on the quality, efficiency and reliability of service that it offers, as well the knowledge and expertise of its team with over 100 years’ combined experience.
Demon Cato is responsible for the invention, innovation and manufacturing of a new range of Quick Fit conduit boxes and couplers.
As Demon Cato’s directors are retiring it seemed like the right time for Metpro to acquire the brand as a key part of its growth strategy and commitment to providing ongoing support to the mechanical and electrical industry.
Metpro has been involved with Demon Cato since its inception as its manufacturing partner and is delighted at the opportunity to build on this legacy and continue to provide the same levels of product quality and service that customers expect from the brand.
Metpro will be adopting the Demon Cato product range as its innovation brand as it is continually looking to expand and improve its product and service offering. It also has plans to enhance the Demon Cato range even further in the near future.
