Tendering opportunity: West Midlands virtual object web portals
Calling all web developers and software engineers! We just wanted to draw your attention to an exciting tendering opportunity which is live at www.wolverhamptontenders.com.
Wolverhampton City Council and partners (including Black Country local authorities, the Black Country LEP and the University of Wolverhampton) are inviting quotations for the development of two West Midlands virtual object web portals to help support their interventions with the region’s aerospace and rail industries.
Like Sandwell Council’s West Midlands Virtual Hospital, the portals will be free-to-use virtual ‘walk-through’ systems to showcase our region’s diverse supply chains. They will demonstrate how the West Midlands is capable of providing everything required for current and future aerospace and rail developments.
Each will serve as a comprehensive repository of local manufactured materials, technical specifications and suppliers. Both will make responsible procurement much easier for client buyers (including design teams working on concept designs for real aerospace and rail products), giving them an instant overview of the products, materials and expertise available in the West Midlands.
You can read the full tender details and download the relevant documents here. The contract will also be published at www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk.
Please note that the deadline to submit an expression of interest is Friday 6 November 2015.
