Tipton firm celebrates its best ever year
Midland Power Press Services (MPPS), headquartered on Princes End in Tipton, is reaping the rewards of a £300,000 investment.
MPPS started life in 1980 as a one-man business in a small workshop in Wolverhampton. The company now employs a team of 30 skilled engineers, able to inspect, repair and refurbish over 100 different types of power press. It also provides spare parts, an emergency service, ongoing servicing and is also one of only a handful of companies in the UK that can refurbish parts without the drawings.
The company recently invested in expanding its Tipton premises and now boasts 10,000 sq ft of machining and fitting shops, new CNC machines, a portable coordinate measuring machine, confined space equipment and has also spent £150,000 on a new specialist forklift. This has resulted in a doubling of capacity, continuing growth in annual sales and new contracts with companies such as GKN, Glen Dimplex, Stadco, Tata Steel and Federal Mogul from the metalworking, automotive and white goods sectors.
Think Sandwell congratulates MPPS on its success and wishes the whole team all the best for next year’s 40th anniversary celebrations. To find out how we can help your business grow, visit our Business Services pages.
