Oldbury-based clothing company Direct Corporate Clothing (DCC) has reported an increase in turnover yet again. The company provides uniforms and corporate workwear to some of the largest companies in the UK. Its customers include BT Group, Kwik Fit, Jet2.com and Travis Perkins.

DCC is at the forefront of the market supplying companies with all their workwear needs, from rigorously specified and certified work wear and head-to-toe personal protective equipment (PPE) to creatively designed corporate wear. It has a 72,000 square feet warehouse and head office in Oldbury and a high-quality modern 40 acre factory site in china.

The company prides itself on providing high-quality garments and in 2016 won two prestigious awards at the annual national Professional Clothing Awards. In August 2016 DCC acquired The Business Wear Company in a move that made it one of the UK’s largest providers of workwear, corporate wear and PPE.

DCC was named in Sandwell Council’s annual Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies Index 2016. The company was ranked 13th in the list, which is based on the rate of growth in turnover.

It has also been included in the third edition of the London Stock Exchange’s landmark ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report. The report is an annual celebration of the fastest-growing and most dynamic SMEs in the UK.

To be selected for the list, DCC had to demonstrate not only growth in revenue over the last four years but also had to significantly outperform its competitors.

The company’s turnover has increased again by more than 20 per cent in the last financial year. Annual reports show that revenue was £26.5m in the 12 months to October 2016, up from £21.7m a year earlier. Headcount also increased from 100 to 120 staff.

The company credits the increase in turnover despite the depreciation of sterling against the US dollar impacting margins to its focus on customer service and high quality garments along with strong customer relations.
