Wednesbury company takes Komfort in profits boost

Despite the current situation, Wednesbury firm Komfort has some good news to celebrate – both turnover and pre-tax profits rose in 2019.

Komfort, based on Bentley Road South in Darlaston, designs and manufactures partitioning solutions for internal spaces. It specialises in glazed partitions, but also supplies wooden doors and partitions, moveable walls, storage walls and ironmongery.

Its success comes on the back of a £4.25m funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, arranged with Komfort in November 2018 to help boost turnover. Not only did turnover increase from £22.4m to £24m, but pre-tax profits more than quadrupled, going from £39,000 to £165,000 in the year to 31 December 2019.

A statement signed by the board said: “2019 was a year of steady progress for Komfort delivering overall sales growth and significantly enhanced earnings compared to 2018. … Whilst sales of the traditional core products remained stable, the overall sales result and indeed the margins were complimented and strengthened through the incremental sales of new products, for example fire systems.”

Think Sandwell congratulates Komfort on its success last year, which will hopefully put it in a strong position to withstand the current adverse business climate. To find out how we can help your business during lockdown, visit our coronavirus support pages.
