West Midlands Premier League football club West Bromwich Albion have revealed revenues of £96.3 million for the financial year ending in June 2015.

The team, formed in 1878, has been playing at The Hawthorns for over a century and were one of the founding members of the Football League. Fortunes have fluctuated over the years, both on and off the pitch, but accounts filed for the tax year ending in June 2015 show turnover up nearly £10 million on the year before, reaching a record £96.3 million.

This is due to a number of factors including increased revenue from gate receipts and media related activities, which collectively brought in over £9 million more than the previous year, as well as a rise in commercial income. This was offset by a small drop in merchandising revenue and a fall in season ticket sales, while an increase in spending on wages dented pre-tax profit.

West Brom finished the 2014 to 2015 season in 13th place and, under head coach Tony Pulis, are maintaining that position in the current season, with another year of Premier League football almost certain. Fans and shareholders alike will be watching carefully to see if the club can continue its strong performance and break the £100 million mark in its next set of published accounts.
