Transport House, just off West Bromwich high street, has been bought by Newrose Residential Ltd, with a view to converting the prominent building to residential use.

The freehold four-storey building on Victoria Street is in a very desirable location, close to the New Square development and right in the heart of West Bromwich town centre. It has 15,121 sq ft of floor space and used to house the Transport and General Workers Union, but has been unoccupied for some time. The sale price has not been disclosed, but the property was on the market for £1m.

Alongside Keningtons chartered surveyors,  Bond Wolfe Commercial assisted with the sale, the latest in a number of successful residential conversions in West Bromwich, including Society House, Parham House and Metro Court. James Mattin, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Commercial, said: “Even in these challenging times, this deal is further testament to the resurgence of demand for freehold opportunities in West Bromwich town centre.”
