West Midlands-based tube manipulation group secures £8m order
A US subsidiary of West Midlands-based Tricorn Group Plc has secured a five-year deal worth nearly £8m.
US-based company Franklin Tubular Products is part of Tricorn Group Plc, which is the holding company for a group of companies that develop and manufacture pipe solutions for a growing international customer base.
Tricorn has over 400 employees and five manufacturing facilities across three countries – Franklin Tubular Products in the US, Maxpower Automative Components Manufacturing in China, Maxpower Automative Limited in West Bromwich, Malvern Tubular Components in Malvern and its headquarters in Malvern.
Franklin Tubular Products, based in North Carolina, has a history of supplying tubing solutions to some of the world’s largest blue chip companies, extending over three decades. It became part of the Tricorn Group in 2013 and has over 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space and a dedicated work force of around 120.
The company was originally set up to produce diesel injection lines and has since expanded to produce a full range of industrial tubing solutions. It has secured the long-term supply agreement, which is initially for five years, with one of its key strategic customers. The agreement is expected to generate around $9.6m (£7.74m) of revenue from current products.
Maxpower Automotive of West Bromwich manufactures a diverse range of tube manipulations and pipe assemblies in ferrous, non-ferrous and nylon materials for off-highway and niche automotive producers.
The Franklin Tubular Products deal is good news for the group as a whole.
