West Midlands exporters recognised in league table

Export 100 logoA high profile league table which identifies the UK’s fastest growing exporters includes seven West Midlands companies.

The ‘Sunday Times Heathrow SME Export Track 100’ ranks British businesses according to their international sales. The Midlands companies on this years list couldn’t come from a more diverse range of industries.

Original Steel Services (ranked 19th) is a steel and metal processing group which includes Envirotanks, a storage tank manufacturer based in Birmingham, Bromford, a hot rolling metal processor based in West Bromwich, D&J Steels, a stockholding company based in Wolverhampton and Brockhouse, a forging business based in West Bromwich, as well as a contract manufacturer based in Poland. Although some of the subsidiary companies were established in the 19th century, the group was founded in 2004 and has a strong focus on expansion and growth.

Simworx (ranked 49th) is based in Kingswinford and designs, develops and manufactures 3D and 4D cinemas and attractions. It has installed experiences across the world, including North America, New Zealand and the Middle East and has been involved in many well-known UK attractions, such as The Beatles Story, the Royal Air Force Museum and Thorpe Park.

Grenade (ranked 50th) produces sports nutrition and energy products from its base in Coventry. Launched in 2010, the company has grown rapidly and now sells to over 100 countries worldwide.

Based in Henley in Arden, The REPL Group (ranked 60th) delivers management solutions to various aspects of business operations, such as workforce, warehouse and in-store processes. A large part of their work is in new digital technologies, helping companies integrate their online, mobile and retail operations.

Webster & Horsfall (ranked 61st) have been manufacturing wire from Birmingham city centre for three hundred years. They now provide steel wire, springs and bespoke products for clients across Europe, North America and Asia, using state of the art technology.

Potters Poultry (ranked 95th) from Rugby supplies equipment to the poultry industry, including cages, feeders, ventilation and lighting, while Synectics Solutions (ranked 98th) works with companies to manage, interpret and use data to power business development.
