Sandwell Council staff are mobilising to help deliver support to vulnerable people hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic. Here’s how the Sandwell business community can help.

Sandwell Council and Think Sandwell are communicating with businesses in the borough to highlight the support and advice on offer to them during the coronavirus outbreak.

This week #madeinsandwell Monday celebrates our singers, artists, performers, writers and film makers, and their ability to bring people together at this difficult time.

The skills shortage across the UK construction industry is being addressed by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) with its Construction Gateway programme, which introduces learners to construction skills and gets them ready for work.

During this strange time, positive stories are more important than ever, which is why we are celebrating the ‘WMP Warriors’.

Sandwell Libraries Literature Festival opens on Saturday 14 March with a mix of author talks, history fayres, live music and theatre. The festival will run until Saturday 28 March at various venues across the borough.

When it comes to location, businesses can’t beat Sandwell as the place to be! Companies in the know include specialist bed retailer Dreams, which has just leased two of the final three units at the Granada Trading Estate in Oldbury. The estate is now full.

A brand new primary school in Smethwick is on track for completion this summer. It will be the first new primary school to open in Sandwell in 40 years.
