Sandwell-headquartered transport company Rotala Plc has purchased one of its competitors in the West Midlands and is in talks to acquire a Manchester operator in a move to strengthen its presence further in some of the country’s major conurbations.

The AA has signalled its commitment to the region by signing a new ten-year lease on its Oldbury premises.

Work is expected to start later this year on phase one of the HS2 high speed rail network between London and Birmingham and manufacturers in the West Midlands are being encouraged to bid on contracts for the project.
