Health and wellbeing #madeinsandwell: Mytime Active is a social enterprise on a mission

This week’s #madeinsandwell Monday star is Mytime Active, a social enterprise on a mission to improve the wellbeing of local communities across the borough.

Founded in 2004, Mytime Active has been supporting the people of Sandwell since 2011 by delivering a range of health services commissioned by Sandwell Public Health. These services include weight management, physical activity and NHS health checks.

It also provides a wide range of workplace wellbeing initiatives including workshops, bespoke interventions and individual employee health assessments. Its services are low cost and can be carried out in any workplace. Its team is highly qualified and Mytime Active is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Its delivery team is made up of healthy lifestyle specialists who are highly qualified individuals passionate about supporting people to access its services to improve health and wellbeing.

Its aim is to make it simple for people to get more out of life by moving more, eating better, feeling positive and making new friends. Mytime Active understands what it takes to make a positive impact on everyday wellbeing and exists to make it simple, easy and more fun for everyone to live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Its wide range of wellbeing services include swimming, gyms, golf, bowling, social and health programmes, ensuring that there is something for everyone, regardless of age, ability and starting point.

As an independent charity, Mytime Active reinvests any profit it makes to boost the long-term wellbeing of local communities. It has also successfully trained five community champions who support and promote its programmes in the local community.

Programme Manager Louise Pickard said the charity is proud of the difference it makes to local residents. “We believe that Mytime’s services and programmes empower people to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing,” she said.

With no public health funding available, the charity is always looking at ways in which it can continue to deliver its services while ensuring they are sustainable for the future. It is also looking at diversifying the services it offers to be able to work in a wider range of settings, as well as working with organisations to support it in securing funding for delivery.

Thank you to Mytime Active, and keep up the good work for residents and businesses of Sandwell! For further information about the workplace wellbeing initiatives or to contact the team visit https://www.mytimeactive.co.uk/.
